Financial Analyst

SilverBow Resources, Inc. (NYSE: SBOW) (“SilverBow” or the “Company”) is seeking a Financial Analyst to assist with all aspects of Finance, Investor Relations and Treasury. This individual will be part of a cross-functional and dynamic team that plays a key role in Company decisions with high visibility to senior management. He or she will gain exposure to each area of responsibility held by the finance team, which includes financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting, monthly variance reviews, acquisition analysis, investor relations, treasury and cash management, securing and maintaining SilverBow’s credit facility, bank covenants, capital markets, and hedging. To be successful in this position, a candidate must be a self-starter, organized, and be able to perform multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. He or she will report to the Director of Finance & Investor Relations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain detailed and complex corporate models and serve as key point of contact
  • Assist with budgeting and planning projects, including short-term and long-term financial projections and scenario analyses
  • Analyze and review monthly budget and forecast variances for senior management
  • Prepare investor relations materials, including corporate presentation, public guidance, press releases, earnings script, sell-side engagement, 10-K/Q preparation and website maintenance.
  • Collaborate on special projects, including but not limited to, M&A / A&D analysis, counterparty credit risk analysis, price sensitivities and development of strategic objectives
  • Assist and serve as backup to treasury function, including daily cash position, monthly cash report forecasts, payment initiation and other required processes and documentation
  • Drive process improvement, automation and new-idea generation across all core functions
  • Organize, manage, and track multiple tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Exercise sound judgement and clear understanding of finance and accounting concepts
  • Work cross-functionally with other business units to accomplish objectives
  • Support ad hoc requests other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Required Education/Experience:

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • 1-3+ years of banking, corporate finance or related experience (upstream O&G a plus)
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Required: Financial modeling/valuation experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Basic understanding of debt and equity capital markets; impact on key financial metrics
  • Prior experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, Virtua, Workiva and/or Spotfire a plus
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

 

 

Reservoir Technician III

SilverBow is in search of a Reservoir Technician III to complete advanced and complex tasks in support of the engineering staff, specifically the Asset Management & Reservoir teams. The Reservoir Technician III will engage in substantive database management, information gathering, reporting, data analysis, economic support, and petrophysical support. To be successful in this position, we’re looking for a self-starter who wants to work as a member of a busy team, is interested in learning new skills, and is flexible and adaptable as priorities change.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides varied and complex technical support to reservoir and engineering staff
  • Commanding and thorough knowledge of applicable functional software applications
  • Report retrieval, distribution, compilation and/or transmission on a regular basis
  • Responsible for compiling metrics as well as helping out when needed in the development of processes/procedures to support the accuracy and gathering of functional data
  • Provide to leadership the data and data analysis required to complete management/board level reports and presentations
  • Periodically performs process and data audits to ensure minimum standards including core values and standards, uptime, cost management and planning and scheduling are being achieved
  • Assist engineers in the investigation and gathering technical and financial data in support of projects; coordinate with other departments as needed
  • Provide technical and financial data to support presentations by reservoir and engineering staff
  • May interact with other departments to obtain necessary information for approvals and for preparing and tracking AFEs and AFE Supplements
  • May prepare contracts or permitting and compliance reports and correspondence to applicable regulatory agencies.

Required Experience & Education

  • High School Diploma required; technical training preferred

Senior Reservoir Engineer

SilverBow is in search of a Sr. Reservoir Engineer to analyze reservoir characteristics and performance, making full use of all current technology, and provide recommend actions that will maximize the value of the Company’s current and possible hydrocarbon reserve. This role will be expected to provide accompanying risked economic and cash flow analysis on all internal and external opportunities and continuously improve programs, process and relationships. To be successful in this position, we’re looking for a self-starter who wants to work as a member of a busy team, is interested in learning new skills, and is flexible and adaptable as priorities change.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use OFM for reserve evaluation and production forecasting
  • Responsible for reservoir engineering associated with assigned areas
  • Responsible for Reserve distributions and economic evaluations in assigned area for proposed projects
  • Evaluate properties for pressure maintenance and waterflood feasibility design and makes recommendation
  • Prepare detailed studies of producing properties, and determine ultimate primary and potential secondary recovery
  • Prepare valuations under various methods of operation and submit recommendations regarding future operations, development drilling and remedial work
  • Recommend collection of additional specialized reservoir data, fluid sample analysis, pressure data and other information necessary to evaluate reservoirs
  • Review reservoir studies prepared by consulting firms and other operators; make follow-up studies of previous reservoir reports
  • Study other operators’ projects where data obtained will be of value in analysis of company exploration and development projects
  • Perform and interpret open and cased hole petrophysical evaluations; make recommendations to geosciences and production departments
  • Interpret core analysis
  • Determine Original oil and Original gas in place and calculate remaining reserves
  • Perform single well nodal analysis and assist with network nodal analysis
  • Recommend and interpret pressure transient evaluations
  • Perform DCA & Economic analysis for single well & projects (multi-well).
  • Assist with booking of reserves; and in non-assigned areas

 

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Engineer preferred

Division Order Analyst III

SilverBow is in search of a Division Order Analyst III to ensure the proper distribution of revenues obtained from oil and/or gas production or other mineral deposits. In addition, this role will be responsible for ongoing maintenance of the mineral ownership of wells and the resolution of complex administrative problems with interest owners. To be successful in this position, we’re looking for a self-starter who wants to work as a member of a busy team, is interested in learning new skills, and is flexible and adaptable as priorities change.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain Revenue and Joint Interest billing division of interest decks
  • Verify ownership and chain of title from source documents
  • Monitor revenue flow into and out of Company
  • Confirm marketing arrangements with purchasers and outside operators
  • Prepare Division and Transfer Orders
  • Acquisition due diligence
  • Resolves administrative problems by exercising discretion and independent judgement

 

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years’ experience in land/land administration; 5+ years’ experience with Division Order responsibilities
  • P2/Oracle experience Strongly preferred

Senior Landman

SilverBow is in search of a Senior Landman to manage all surface-related land functions in support of multi-rig drilling programs and production activities, and advise management on various land, legal, and regulatory matters. This role will be responsible for performing all of the necessary duties related to contracts and titles, surface work, and due diligence related to acquisitions and divestitures. To be successful in this position, we are looking for a self-starter who wants to work as a member of a busy team, is interested in learning new skills, and is flexible and adaptable as priorities change.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate, create and interpret various contracts such as JOAs, Oil and Gas Leases, ROWs, Farmouts, AMI/Exploration Agreements, Seismic Options, PSAs, Letter Agreements, Surface Use Agreement, Damage Settlements, etc.
  • Coordinate/perform/supervise the securing of title work, including abstracts and associated title curative as it relates to surface ownership
  • Interpret, execute and maintain surface contracts to ensure compliance with obligations
  • Negotiate and drafts complex surface agreements; damage settlements
  • Negotiate damage settlements
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of surface land management and negotiation
  • Assist with complaints, grievance resolutions and other surface owner disputes and makes recommendations regarding damage claims settlements
  • Be proactive in addressing community and stakeholder issues
  • Manage surveyors and conducts pre-construction on-site evaluations
  • Represent the Company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances that may arise during negotiations with landowners and business activities with regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate/supervise/perform pre and post-acquisition or sale due diligence/title work and work with other company disciplines and consultants
  • Acquire drill sites, easements, surface leases, access roads, frac pits, water use and other rights as needed for drilling and production activities; fee property
  • Direct and supervise field personnel such as Land Brokers, surveyors and other consultants in completing projects such as lease acquisition, title/abstract work, damage settlements, ROW acquisition, etc.
  • Communicate internally regarding ongoing projects, prospects, timeline strategy, etc.
  • Serve as company liaison with landowners, local, county, state and federal regulatory agencies

 

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Petroleum Land Management or related, preferred
  • 10+ years of Landman experience; 5+ years of surface work
  • CPL preferred
  • Advanced negotiation, communication and organizational skills

Revenue Accountant I

SilverBow is in search of a Revenue Accountant I to handle revenue accounting responsibilities for the Company’s operated and non-operated oil and gas assets. To be successful in this position, we’re looking for a self-starter who wants to work as a member of a busy team, is interested in learning new skills, and is flexible and adaptable as priorities change.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly revenue bookings for all products (Gas, NGL’s, Oil) for multiple areas
  • Analyze purchaser statements and invoices for accuracy
  • Ensure proper booking of volume, price, deductions, and taxes
  • Reconcile cash receipts to monthly bookings and apply them monthly to correct purchasers
  • Assist with revenue accruals based on production volumes and marketing prices/deduction rates
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as needed
  • Assist with reconciliation of revenue accounts at month-end
  • Coordinate with multiple departments-Marketing, Production, and Land-Division Order
  • Process Prior Period Adjustments for various reasons. (Changes in Volumes, price, deductions, allocations, tax rates)
  • Research and clear balances as needed
  • Follow all internal audit/SOX controls established for revenue accounting
  • High attention to detail and accounting analysis
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

 

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Preferred
  • 1+ years of Accounting experience; Midstream accounting experience a plus
  • Excel power user; Oracle experience a plus
  • Advanced communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
