Senior Land Manager

Job Summary:

SilverBow Resources is seeking a Senior Land Manager who will manage Landman and Land staff. Negotiate, create and interpret various contracts coordinate/perform/supervise the securing of title work, including abstracts and associated title curative. The candidate will assist in training/mentoring Landmen, work and coordinate projects with other company disciplines. They will also advise management on various Land, Legal and Regulatory matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, negotiate, interpret oil and gas leases, rights of way, assignments, unitization, and other oil and gas related agreements
  • Work directly with working interest partners to facilitate approval of major joint development projects
  • Work directly with industry partners to develop joint ventures, unitization, farmins/farmouts, and other forms of joint development of assets
  • Review and evaluate title opinions and ownership reports to determine necessary curative action’s to drill oil and gas wells
  • Work directly with internal and external attorneys
  • Perform due diligence and negotiate purchase and sale agreements for property acquisitions or divestitures
  • Work closely with field operations team to develop and maintain existing assets
  • Develop and maintain excellent landowner and mineral owner relationships
  • Delegate and supervise work assignments of outside contractors and mentor Landmen as needed
  • Create reports and communicate project progress
  • Secure the necessary agreements and permits to build facilities, pipelines and oil and gas locations
  • Capability with setting and tracking budgets/costs and prepare Authority For Expenditures (AFE)

Qualifications:
  • Previous land manager with supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of oil and gas laws, rules and regulations of Texas
  • Working knowledge of geosciences, engineering, accounting, marketing and regulatory matters as they apply to oil & gas industry
  • Acquisition and divestiture activity experience
  • Knowledge of various land agreements (unitization, joint venture agreements, farmouts, etc.)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of various commercial aspects of the oil and gas industry, such as crude oil and gas marketing, and geophysical and seismic trades.
  • Ability to make and implement sound decisions when faced with multi-faceted problems.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong, dynamic team leadership skills.
  • Experience with preparation and negotiations of purchase and sale agreements.
  • Outstanding management, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Required: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint), Oracle, P2 EU, Tobin Land.
  • 15 years or more Land Manager experience

Education:
  • Required: BA in Petroleum Land Management
  • JD a Plus
  • Certified Professional Landman


Senior Division Order Analyst

Job Summary:

SilverBow Resources is looking for a Senior Division Order Analyst to be responsible for the proper distribution of revenues obtained from oil and/or gas production or other mineral deposits, which includes the ongoing maintenance of the mineral ownership of those wells. The selected candidate will resolve more complex administrative problems with interest owners while understanding contract and relevant legal constraints.

This position requires knowledge of mineral ownership, contract and regulatory requirements, operating agreement and other legal documentation requirements. Ability to analyze contracts, opinions and documents relating to title ownership. Must possess advance knowledge of the application of complex Division Order technical methods, concepts and calculations. Perform data analysis, due diligence reviews and customer service relationship management. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Skill in the preparation and maintenance of documents, spreadsheets and related databases.

Key Experience:

  • Set up and maintain Revenue and Joint Interest billing division of interest decks
  • Verify ownership and chain of title from source documents
  • Monitor revenue flow into and out of Company
  • Confirm marketing arrangements with purchasers and outside operators
  • Prepare Division and Transfer Orders
  • Acquisition due diligence
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years in Land/Land Administration
  • Strong Excel / Word skills, Oracle, P2 EU, Tobin Land & Outlook
  • Must have strong communication skills


Senior Accountant – JV / Cost Accounting

Job Summary:

An internal promotion has created a need to hire a Senior Accountant in the Joint Interest / Cost Accounting group. The position is located at our Houston office in the Energy Corridor. This role will work with Accounting Department personnel as well as personnel from Operations teams. Under direct supervision of the Manager of Property and Operations Accounting, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for various Joint Interest and Cost Accounting processes.

Required Education / Experience / Software Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5-7 years of progressive upstream oil & gas accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, intermediate level PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Experience with Enterprise Upstream (P2) oil & gas accounting software preferred
